Why this site exists

A lot of farm decisions start with a small calculation. How much urea for this field? How many millilitres go in the sprayer? Is this seed lot good enough to sow? The maths isn't difficult, but it's easy to slip – a dose written per hectare applied per acre, nitrogen confused with urea, a bigha size from the wrong state. Those slips cost money, and sometimes a crop.

KhetiTools is a collection of free calculators that get those sums right and show you how. We built it for farmers first, and for the agriculture students, extension workers, input dealers and farm managers who help them.

What makes our calculators different

• Indian units by default. Acres, hectares, guntha, kanal, quintals, 45 kg urea bags and 16-litre sprayers – and state-wise bigha sizes rather than one national guess.
• Every step shown. Each result includes "how we calculated this", so you can check the working or explain it to someone else.
• Formula and example on every page. We explain the method, work through an example with real numbers, and point out the assumptions.
• Mobile first. Large buttons and clear results that are easy to read on a phone in the field.
• Free, with no sign-up.

How we check our work

Every calculator is backed by automated tests that run known inputs through the formula and compare the answers with hand-worked results. Nutrient contents follow the standard grades under India's Fertilizer Control Order (urea 46% N, DAP 18-46-0, SSP 16% P₂O₅, MOP 60% K₂O), and unit conversions use internationally defined values (1 acre = 4,046.8564224 m²).

Where a value genuinely varies – like the size of a bigha – we say so on the page and tell you where to confirm it.

What we don't do

We don't recommend fertilizer doses, pesticides or crop varieties. Those depend on your soil, crop, season and local conditions, and should come from your Soil Health Card, product labels, your state agricultural university or your local Krishi Vigyan Kendra. Our tools take a recommendation you already have and turn it into accurate quantities.

We are an independent site and are not affiliated with any government department, fertilizer company or pesticide manufacturer.
